WHAT YOU CAN BECOME
This is a 4 year professional qualification and upon completion of this qualification you will be qualified as a professional teacher for Grades R to 3. A range of other education related careers will also be open to you.
SKILLS YOU WILL DEVELOP
Graduates of The IIE Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching will be able to facilitate the all-round development of young children in a manner that is sensitive to individual learner needs. You will be able to manage a class of young children in such a way that each child learns to the best of their ability and you will be skilled in the art of lesson development and assessment to track the progress of each learner.
TIME NEEDED FOR YOUR TOTAL DEDICATION
Full-time: This is a four year full-time qualification offered by The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) at Rosebank College. Lectures take place during the day on weekdays and your classroom learning is supplemented by the additional support and material available online on RCLearn which is our virtual learning space. This qualification is only offered at our Braamfontein, Pretoria CBD and Durban campus.
THE WEIGHT YOUR FUTURE QUALIFICATION CARRIES
The IIE’s Bachelor of Education in Foundation Phase Teaching is accredited by the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC) and is registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) as a 482-credit qualification on level 7 (SAQA ID: 96408). It is also fully recognised by the Department of Basic Education for the purposes of registering as a teacher and teaching in a South African school.
