Enjoy the reward of aiding the treatment of high-risk and/or critically ill neonates by acquiring the specialist knowledge and skills required to care for full-term, pre-term and Small for Gestational Age (SGA) infants. Education content covers embryology, birth changes, the structure and functions of the body systems in neonates, the common conditions treated in the Neonatal ICU, assessment and monitoring of patients; and specific life support techniques.
Students also learn maternity/obstetric nursing skills and study ethical, psycho-social and medico-legal aspects of Neonatal ICU care.
