Bachelor of Theology – UNISA
Each BTH curriculum must consist of: 30 modules (12 credits each) which cannot be completed in less than (3) three years. Two fundamental modules: 1. CGM1501 (Invitation to theology), which must be done in the first semester of BTH study: 2. BTH3720 (Integrated theological praxis), which may only be done in the year, in which the degree is completed. At NQF levels 6 and 7, a student may take between 10 and 12 modules respectively. A BTH degree will therefore consist of either: 8 – NQF level 5 modules, 10- NQF level 6 modules and 12 – NQF level 7modules or 8 – NQF level 5 modules, 11 – NQF level 6 modules and 11 – NQF level 7modules or 8 – NQF level 5 modules, 12 – NQF level 6 modules and 10 – NQF level 7 modules.
Qualification admission requirements
Your admission to Unisa is dependent on you meeting the specific admission requirements for your chosen qualification.
A National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Degree endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning,
A Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption or qualify for the exemption from the Matriculation Board with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning.
Applicants, who do not comply with the above requirements, should consider applying for a lower level qualification for which they meet the statutory and additional requirements.
