In Life Orientation Grade 10 subject, “self-awareness” is defined as the act or state of knowing yourself.
Self-awareness Examples

Examples of self-awareness you should know for term 1 are the following:
- Knowing what interests you – I love playing guitars
- Knowing your skills – I’m good at solving puzzles
- Knowing your strengths and weaknesses – My strength is being patient and a good listener, but my weakness is procrastination when tasks feel difficult
- Knowing what you like and dislike – I like quiet, peaceful environments, but I dislike noisy and crowded places.
- Knowing your goals, wishes, and hopes – My goal is to finish high school, my wish is to go to Sun City one day, and my hope is to start a charity for kids in Polokwane.
- Knowing your values and beliefs – I’m Christian and I believe in God, and I strongly value honesty, kindness, and fairness.
