Who is Affected by the Bill of Rights

The Bill of Rights in South Africa, it is what formed democracy. It is centred around democratic values of human dignity, equality, and freedom. The Bill of Rights affects all citizens who live in South Africa. You are affected and protected by the Bill of Rights in South Africa when you:

  • are treaded unfairly by colleagues, and anyone in South Africa,
  • are discriminated against,
  • are arrested, you are still affected and protected by the Bill of Rights,
  • are a student – the Bill of Rights ensures you are getting proper education,
  • are sick and need to go to the hospital, you have rights to a free medical care, and
  • are practising your religion, your freedom to any religion is protected by the Bill of Rights.

Now you know that the Bill of Rights affect everyone who lives in South Africa.
