Term 1 Content Brief

Business Studies Grade 12 Term 1 Exam PDF BHB-010

Key terms tested include labour legislation such as the Skills Development Act, Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Labour Relations Act, fringe benefits, recruitment, selection, placement and induction, unprofessional business practices, and creative thinking techniques including the Delphi technique and brainstorming.

The paper consists of 8 pages across three sections worth 150 marks in total. Section A is compulsory and worth 20 marks. Section B offers a choice of two out of three questions worth 40 marks. Section C offers a choice of one out of two questions worth 30 marks. Only the first two questions answered in Section B and the first question answered in Section C are marked.

By the end of this paper, learners should be able to identify key labour legislation and its purpose, distinguish between compulsory fringe benefits, describe the stages of recruitment and selection, recognise unprofessional business practices, and apply creative thinking techniques such as the Delphi technique and brainstorming.
