Diploma in Grade R Teaching NWU Course Distance- Learning Requirements for 2022 – 2023:
This programme is specifically geared at practising under- or unqualified Gr R teachers who wish to attain an accredited qualification but do not have BA endorsement on the Senior Certificate. All aspirant teachers that have a BA endorsement should apply for the BEd.
The programme is presented with scheduled whiteboard contact sessions at selected study centres. Examinations for students in the open distance-learning mode are written at NWU examination centres.
All examinations are conducted at exam centres, with NWU staff setting the examination papers and assessing answer scripts, thus ensuring that all students have met the required module and programme outcomes. Open Distance Learning studies are only available in English as a medium of instruction.
The diploma in Grade R Teaching offered by North West University aims to provide an opportunity to articulate into a BEd degree (Foundation Phase).
Requirements to Study
- Prospective students must already be working at a school in Grade R to be able to apply for admission.
- The minimum admission requirement for this qualification is a National Senior Certificate with diploma endorsement or equivalent.
- A level 4 or level 5 Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Development may also be presented for admission.
Fees
All fees are annually adapted. Study fees are based on modules and students pay per module and not for the course as a whole.
