Answer: Just as corrosion eats away at metal, the issue of the identity of Salome’s child’s father constantly troubles Michael.
What does Michael mean when he says, “You keep stalling, … hide its name?” (lines 3–4)?

Explain the irony in Salome’s words when she says, “I assure you … an honourable man” (line 8).
