Question 1 uses a synoptic weather map to test interpreting isobar spacing and wind strength, identifying types of low-pressure cells, describing weather associated with a low-pressure system, and reading weather conditions at Cape Town from a sketch. The paper also covers Geomorphology and Geographical Skills and Techniques, using a 1:50 000 topographical map of Elliot (Khowa) and a matching orthophoto map.
